Millburn Police Arrest Man Found In Stolen Car At Mall

MILLBURN, NJ — Millburn police arrested a Georgia resident after finding him in a stolen car at The Mall at Short Hills earlier this month, authorities announced Wednesday.

The Millburn Police Department released the following details about the incident:

“On January 2, [a Millburn police officer] located a stolen vehicle parked and occupied by one male suspect in parking lot E at The Mall at Short Hills. The vehicle was a 2018 Dodge Durango stolen out of Pennsylvania. [The officer] arrested the driver, Deshawn Turpin, 31, of Duluth, Georgia, without incident.”

Police found “suspected marijuana,” cocaine, crack-cocaine and a small scale during a search, authorities said.

Turpin was charged with receiving stolen property, possession of CDS and distributing CDS, police said.
