Millburn Schools Close Due To Snow Tuesday

The Millburn schools changed from a delayed opening to closure on Tuesday.

MILLBURN, NJ — With a measurable snowfall and potential icy conditions during rush hour Tuesday morning in North Jersey, several schools announced delayed openings and closings, including Millburn.

Millburn schools first announced a delayed opening Monday night, but then sent a message after 7 a.m. Tuesday saying they were closing:

"Good morning. Millburn Schools will be CLOSED today. With additional snow arriving at this hour and predicted to continue through the morning, as well as icy and slick road conditions, the district has decided to close for the safety of our staff and students."

Elsewhere in North Jersey, districts including Millburn, Cranford, Ridgewood, Mahwah, and Wyckoff announced delayed openings early, saying they might give updates later. Jersey City schools closed for the day.

"Snow covered roads and visibility down to ½ mile at times Tonight into Tue PM," the NWS said in its powerpoint presentation. "Hazardous travel likely thru Tue Eve."

A few inches of snow are predicted for Friday as well.
