MILLBURN, NJ — Millburn Town Hall will be closing early on Thursday due to a severe weather forecast.

A state of emergency has been declared in New Jersey ahead of strong storms that may cause flash flooding. Rainfall totals of one to three inches are generally expected, with localized amounts of five to seven inches possible. The state of emergency will go into effect at 2 p.m.

In Millburn, officials will close Town Hall at 2 p.m. on Thursday. Offices will reopen at 8 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 1.

“Be safe, avoid flooded areas and continue monitoring the storm with your preferred weather channels,” Millburn officials advised, noting that flood preparedness information is available on the municipal website.
