Millburn Township Committee To Reorganize On Tuesday

The Millburn Township Committee will have a reorganization meeting on Jan. 4, at which a new mayor might be selected.

MILLBURN, NJ — The Millburn Township Committee reorganization meeting is set to be held on Tuesday, Jan. 4, 2022.

At this meeting, township members will be named to various boards and committees, and there is often a vote for a new mayor and deputy mayor.

In Millburn's form of government, one of the five committee members — (current) Mayor Tara Prupis , Dianne Eglow, Richard Wasserman, Maggee Miggins and Sanjeev Vinayak — must receive at least three votes from their fellow members to become mayor.

Millburn meetings have been contentious at times in the past year, with debates on everything from affordable housing to the makeup of a flooding committee.

Because of the rise in COVID-19 case numbers, Millburn said they are encouraging the public to participate in the meeting via Zoom. The meeting will be open to the public in person, but numbers will be limited.
