Millburn's Paper Mill Playhouse Children's Season to Feature Sensory-Friendly Production

A production of Charlotte's Web, designed for children with disabilities, is just one of the family-friendly shows planned for this fall.

This fall, Paper Mill Playhouse in Millburn will offer a wide variety of charming, delightful and educational performances. The lineup will also include sensory friendly shows, to accommodate children with Autism and other disabilities.

“What better way to spend a weekend morning than introducing your child to the live theater experience with characters and stories they love?” said Mark S. Hoebee, Producing Artistic Director at Paper Mill Playhouse.

Paper Mill’s Children’s Shows are filled with audience participation and adventure. One of the country’s premier nonprofit theaters, Paper Mill is the place where American musical theater is celebrated, cherished, and pushed in exciting new directions.

Children’s Shows take place on select Saturdays or Sundays at 10 a.m. All tickets are only $12.75 for any seat in the house. Tickets may be purchased by calling 973-376-4343, or at the Paper Mill Box Office on Brookside Drive in Millburn, or online.

The 2014 season of Children’s Shows are listed below. This season will include a production of Charlotte’s Web designed specifically for children on the autism spectrum or with other developmental disabilities.

The autism-friendly performance is planned in cooperation with the Paper Mill Autism Advisory Team. The theater environment will be altered for this performance, providing a sensory-friendly, comfortable and judgment-free space that is welcoming for all families.

Additionally, Paper Mill Playhouse will host a free open house titled “Meet Your Seat” as an opportunity for children who are new to theater experiences to visit the theater space before the show. For more information, call the box office at 973-376-4343.

Paper Mill Playhouse also offers gift cards, available in any denomination. Gift cards can be purchased at the Paper Mill Playhouse Box Office and are good for any show or items at the gift shop. Visa, MasterCard, Discover and American Express accepted.
