What they are saying: I've been told by many friends about this place but unfortunately don't live near the area. I finally got the opportunity to stop by on a Sunday afternoon and I was NOT disappointed at all. Street parking was actually really easy even with a street fair going on a few blocks down. There's plenty of outside seating if you wanted to eat there. The menu is EXTENSIVE but you'll never get bored because there's so many things to try! I got their Tuscan Chicken sandwich while my boyfriend got their Black Bull. It's pretty simple. Take a number and wait to be called to place your order. Once it's ready you can choose from their abundant choices of chips and cookies and drinks. They even serve breakfast earlier in the morning! I saw they had a pizza bagel which looked really good. The staff there seem to really enjoy being there. I didn't have to wait for my sandwich very long and it was fun whenever someone ordered their Gobbler sandwich because they'd all scream Gobbler afterwards! The breading on their chicken isn't overdone or over salted. Their pickles tasted fresh and juicy without being too sour. The black bull has tri-Tip steak with caramelized onions. It wasn't overly greasy where it'd drip down your fingers but had plenty of flavor! I can't wait to come back and try other sandwiches!

2. Pita on Essex.
182 Essex St Millburn, NJ 07041
Phone number: (973) 379-7482
What they are saying: Good place to eat, we shared a lamb kebab platter after a mushroom pastry appetizer that was really good. They only use tahini sauce and serve non dairy sauces which was a bummer but it was ok without the sauce.Decent place to get dinner, quick service, very clean.
3. Mia Famiglia.
277 Main St Millburn, NJ 07041
Phone number: (973) 467-5740
What they are saying: Been a long time customer for over 20 years. Lived many places always made my way to this establishment for lunches fresh mozzarella prosciutto and other snacks. There are many establishments that try to compete but most can never come close. We live a few miles away still, but it's worth the trip every time... Never knew the name just knew it was opposite Bleeker Street an old friend recommended them. Thanks for the great food great choices the excellent customer service throughout the years...
4. Fiamma Pizza.
32 Main St Millburn, NJ 07041
Phone number: (973) 376-1110
What they are saying: Finally, a good pizza joint in Millburn. Fiamma is a classic wood oven styled pizza place that doesn't over complicate their pies or tries to be something they are not. This BYOB spot offers a cozy interior and generous outdoor seating (for a small joint) with quick service for having such a small kitchen set up. The ingredients taste fresh, the dough is tastefully crisp while maintaining a chewy inside that is perfectly baked. Why I love Fiamma is they realize that wood oven styled pizza (in America this is commonly referred to as Neapolitan style) isn't a rare commodity or even a dish that should have a luxury tax...it simply is just pizza. They get this right. In addition, their meatballs were delicious along with their pasta dishes. If you're in the Millburn area and want fair priced Italian food without the Millburn or luxury tax, I highly suggest Fiamma.
5. Saigon Cafe Millburn.
286 Essex St Millburn, NJ 07041
Phone number: (973) 376-6061
What they are saying: Good Vietnamese food and very friendly service! Plenty of outdoor seating and a nice place to have dinner during the summer nights. I enjoyed my vermicelli with grilled pork and spring rolls. The pork was flavorful, spring rolls crispy, and the vermicelli had a nice chew to it. The wonton soup base was not like any wonton soup I've had at the Chinese restaurants (distinct oniony flavor) - and the wontons were delicious. They seem to have a really busy takeout business - there were just as many employees working as there were patrons, and there were people constantly in and out picking up. A very welcome and unique addition to the area!
6. EVOO & Lemon.
45 Main St Millburn, NJ 07041
Phone number: (973) 564-6075
What they are saying: I don't normally give 5 stars, but, this place deserves it! We ordered a salad, grilled octopus, the soup of the day and scallop between the two of us and all 4 dishes were yum! Service is also very friendly. I'm so happy to have finally found a good restaurant in my town!
7. Cara Mia.
194 Essex St Millburn, NJ 07041
Phone number: (973) 379-8989
What they are saying: Fun and friendly atmosphere. Came here with a group of seven and we did not feel cramped at all plus the service was great. Ordered the burrata cheese app, veal sorrentino entree, and creme brûlée dessert - all delicious and fresh! No complaints. Definitely coming back to try other menu items!
8. La Pergola.
120 Essex St Millburn, NJ 07041
Phone number: (973) 376-6838
What they are saying: There were plenty of seats available on a Friday evening at 7 pm. The restaurant was elegant and dimly lit, giving the impression of an old-fashioned European hotel. After we sat down, the maître d' asked us if we had any time constraints. A waiter brought us olives, cheese, excellent focaccia, and an exquisitely grassy olive oil. There were plenty of vegetarian options. We ordered butternut squash ravioli and pappardelle with wild mushrooms. The food was glorious! The ravioli, which came in a sweet butter sauce reminiscent of good baklava, were sweet and soft and incredibly filling. So we saved these for dessert and focused on the pappardelle, which had a big, bright umami taste thanks to the mushrooms, parmesan, and tomatoes, and the pasta itself was soft and hearty. The bill came promptly, and they packed me some extra focaccia with our leftovers.
9. Oscar's Deli & Restaurant.
305 Millburn Ave Millburn, NJ 07041
Phone number: (973) 376-0032
What they are saying: One of the best subs in my opinion. Came here for lunch and was craving the deli type of sandwich. When I got it the sandwich was good portion for a half size and filled with meat! Freshness in the bread and the oil and vinegar topped it off just great! Must try when you want a quick bite for lunch. They not only have cold subs they also have hot subs and breakfast!
10. MoonShine Modern Supper Club.
55 Main St Millburn, NJ 07041
Phone number: (973) 218-6042
What they are saying: This place is comparable to city dining- the space is modern and trendy. A+ for service from Tim. We sat and dined all night, he was extremely attentive, professional, and patient (he could've turned our table over in the time we were there) but told us not to worry about it. The staff is wonderful.I had the Rubys Hound to drink, I love southern inspired drinks. (Or southern inspired anything really). They serve large, dense pieces of bread with a creamy chive, scallion, and sherry port wine spread. For appetizer, Tim recommended the Truffle Gnocchi and Meatballs. The gnocchi literally freaking melts in your mouth with a soft cheese center. Unbelievable. Then for entrees, I had seared ahi tuna prepared medium rare. It comes on top of collard greens, sweet potato purée and a little cumin sauce. The tuna was good, could've used a dash more seasoning. My friend had the scallops, also prepared to the perfect temperature. The BEST part was definitely dessert. I loveeee apple cobbler and they did it sweet justice. The vanilla ice cream was top notch. They turn up the music after the dinner time rush: I heard flume, fetty wap, and that black beetles song hehe. Pretty awesome. Will definitely be returning.
