Police In Millburn Chase 3 Different Cars Stolen From Other NJ Towns

The Millburn police pursued three separate stolen cars traveling through their town in one week last month.

MILLBURN, NJ — The Millburn police spotted three different stolen vehicles in town on three separate days in one week, they said. Here are the details from the reports:

On Tuesday, May 23, 2023 at 12:20 a.m., Millburn Police Officer Bifano responded to Exeter Road on a report of attempted burglaries to motor vehicles, police said. The caller said that three strangers dressed in dark clothing attempted to enter vehicles at three different residences. The prowlers were unsuccessful, so they ran back to a black Mercedes Benz SUV and left.

Several minutes later, the suspects' vehicle was seen traveling east on South Orange Avenue by Officer Wichelns, police said. The vehicle was a Mercedes Benz GLC that was previously stolen from Livingston, police said.

Officer Wichelns attempted to stop the vehicle, but it fled north on Cherry Lane. Wichelns pursued the vehicle but had to stop due to safety concerns. The incident remains under investigation by the Millburn Police Detective Bureau.

On May 24, 2023 at 11:36 a.m, Detective DeRosa and Officer Matos located a stolen vehicle traveling east on South Orange Avenue. The vehicle was a stolen 2021 Range Rover, police said.

Detective Rosa attempted to stop the vehicle, but it fled, police said. DeRosa and Officer Matos chased it north on JFK Parkway, but then had to stop because of safety concerns. The incident remains under investigation.

On May 29, at 7:24 p.m., Millburn Police Officer Reid located a stolen vehicle traveling west on
South Orange Avenue. The vehicle was a 2021 Jeep Wrangler stolen from Belmar, police said.

Officer Reid tried to stop it on White Oak Ridge Road, but it fled. Officer Reid pursued the
vehicle east on Great Hills Road to Old Short Hills Road South, police said, but had to stop soon after due to safety concerns.
