Prestigious Theater In Millburn Announces Award Nominations For NJ Teen Thespians
Which NJ school has the fairest teen thespians of them all? The nominations have been announced, with finalists to be revealed next week.
MILLBURN, NJ — Over the years, theatrical stars from Anne Hathaway to Laura Benanti to Shanice Williams have won prestigious awards from Paper Mill Playhouse in Millburn when they were teenagers in New Jersey.
Now, students around New Jersey and Essex County hope to follow in their footsteps.
In early May, the prestigious theater house in Millburn announced the schools and teens who have been nominated for various Paper Mill Playhouse "Rising Star" awards for 2023.

The winners will be announced live on June 13.
Columbia High School, in the South Orange-Maplewood school district, is in the running for several awards this year.

Here are the nominees for Outstanding Overall Production Of A Musical:
- Columbia High School: "Something Rotten!"
- Delaware Valley Regional HS: "The Addams Family"
- Gloucester County Institute of Technology: "Les Miserables"
- Haddonfield Memorial HS: "Head Over Heels"
- Moorestown HS: "Rodgers & Hammerstein's Cinderella"
- Ridge HS: "Newsies"
- Summit HS: "Something Rotten!"
There are awards for student actors and actresses, best supporting actors and actresses, ensembles, choruses, teachers, directors, and more.
