The car lost control and struck bushes and trees on a residential property, causing the front tires to deflate, police said.

MILLBURN, NJ — A stolen vehicle led Millburn police on a car chase earlier this month before crashing near a home on Old Short Hills Road, authorities say.

The Millburn Police Department released the following details about the incident:

“On Nov. 3, a Millburn police officer located a Kia Sportage reported stolen out of Perth Amboy traveling north on Old Short Hills Road. [The officer] attempted to stop the vehicle, but the driver fled north on Old Short Hills Road. Millburn police pursued the vehicle until it lost control and struck bushes and trees on a residential property, causing the front tires to deflate. Two juvenile suspects – each 16-years-old – exited the vehicle and fled on foot.”

Police apprehended both juveniles a short time later. They were transported to the Essex County Juvenile Detention Center.
