Three BMW's Stolen From 3 Homes In 4 Days In Millburn: Police

Police reports for last week include three car thefts in Millburn.

MILLBURN, NJ — The Millburn police released information on three car thefts last week. They are:

On May 16, at 8 a.m., olice Officer Lyons responded to a Highland Avenue residence on a report of a theft of a vehicle. The reporting person stated that his grey BMW was stolen from his driveway the night before at 11:18 p.m. The key fob was left in the vehicle. The vehicle was later recovered in Irvington.

The next day, at 9:15 a.m., Police Officer Hunt-Miles investigated a report of a theft of a vehicle at the Upton, at 1 Fineren Way, Short Hills. The victim said he parked his BMW 5 series at the complex at 2 p.m. and left it unlocked and with the key fob inside. At 8 p.m., he noticed the vehicle was missing. It was later recovered in Newark.

On May 19, 6:33 a.m., Millburn Police Officer Ford responded to a Clinton Avenue residence on a report of residential burglary. An investigation revealed that strangers entered the house through an unlocked rear window and ransacked the downstairs, including the kitchen. The intruders stole two Apple iPods and a key fob for a BMW X7 that was parked in the driveway. They then took the BMW.

On May 14, Officer Bifano stopped a green Ford Edge at Millburn Avenue and Main Street at 11:31 p.m., for driving the wrong way on a one-way street. The investigation led to the arrest of Keith
Mannino, age 50, of Westfield, for suspicion of driving while intoxicated. Mannino was charged with DWI and later released to an acquaintance.

On May 19, at 3 p.m., a Marion Avenue resident came into Millburn Police Headquarters to report a theft of a UPS package worth $255 from the porch. The resident reported seeing a male (No further description) running from the porch with the box in his hands. The suspect got into the passenger seat of a silver Honda and left.
