Tree Falls On Hiker In South Mountain Reservation: Essex County Authorities
A 51-year-old South Orange man was walking in the Millburn section of the Essex County park when a tree fell on him, police say.

A falling tree injured a hiker in South Mountain Reservation on Thursday evening, authorities reported.
The 51-year-old South Orange man was walking in the Millburn section of the reservation with a female companion when a tree fell on him, the Essex County Sheriff’s Office stated.
The incident was reported around 5 p.m., police said.

Emergency responders airlifted the injured hiker to University Hospital in Newark, where he was reportedly in fair condition, NorthJersey.com stated.
The 2,110-acre Essex County park is located in central in portions of Maplewood, Millburn and West Orange, and borders South Orange, between the first and second ridges of the Watchung Mountains.
