Why Won't Romano & Cohen Take Responsibility for Their Own Votes?
Ms. Piszar Blames Republicans From 40 Years Ago While Romano & Cohen Lie About Their 2023 Record

Response to Janet Piszar
Ms. Piszar tries to blame Republicans from 40 years ago while ignoring what Romano and Cohen actually did in 2023.

March 7, 2023: Romano made the motion to fund the Dump housing redevelopment plan. Cohen seconded. Both voted yes. (Meeting minutes available on township website)
April 2023: Under their watch, the township attorney added developer RPM as a party to our litigation, giving a for-profit developer that doesn't even own land in our town legal standing to sue Millburn.

September 5, 2023: Romano and Cohen voted to authorize $600,000 in bonds to relocate DPW facilities - advancing the Dump project.
The Real Story:
Yes, Mount Laurel has a long history. But the rules only changed in 2015. Prior to that, fully developed towns like Millburn had no defined obligation. The immediate crisis was the 2018 late filing of Millburn's Housing Element - which happened under majority-Democratic control with candidates that Romano, as chairperson of the local Democratic party, put up - that triggered a builder's remedy lawsuit.
In 2021, the single-party all-Democratic Township Committee negotiated and passed a settlement that capitulated to developer, paving the way for far more development than required. The Township Committee authorized the settlement with no public input, yet Romano had the gall to praise Maggee Miggins for being "a strong advocate of transparency."
Follow the Money:
Union and developer PACs fund Trenton politicians who push overdevelopment. Those same politicians then fund Romano and Cohen's campaigns. They endorsed Governor Murphy, who praised Fair Share Housing Center as his "partner."
Romano and Cohen can't fight overdevelopment when they're funded by the people profiting from it.
Experience vs. Accountability:
Ms. Piszar says we need "experienced leaders." Romano and Cohen ARE the experienced leaders who created this mess. Now, they're lying about their records, claiming they "never voted for it."
Jamie Serruto and Kris Heinrichs aren't conflicted on the issue of overdevelopment like their opponents are. They offer leadership that answers to residents, not party bosses.
The choice IS clear. Don't Vote for Party. Vote for yourself, vote for family, vote for kids.
Vote for Millburn.
