2-Car Crash In Montclair Traps Driver, Firefighters Rush To Rescue

A car crash left a driver temporarily trapped in an overturned vehicle, authorities said.

MONTCLAIR, NJ — A two-car crash left a driver temporarily trapped in an overturned vehicle last week, the Montclair Fire Department reported.

The crash took place at the corner of Essex Avenue and Frederick Street on Dec. 4. When firefighters arrived at the scene, they found an overturned car with the driver trapped inside.

Firefighters quickly extricated the driver, who received emergency medical care from the Montclair Ambulance Unit.

“These types of incidents are often complex and challenging, but are handled effectively and professionally by members of the MFD due to their time and dedication to training on rescue scenarios,” fire chief Robert Duncan said.
