Shopper Has Destructive Temper Tantrum At Montclair Supermarket: Police
A frustrated customer lost his temper and damaged several items while using a self-checkout line in North Jersey, police say.
MONTCLAIR, NJ — A shopper lost his temper and damaged several items while using a supermarket checkout line in Montclair last week, police say.
Employees at Acme Supermarket on Valley Road told police that the incident unfolded on Dec. 9, when a male customer started having trouble using the self-service checkout.
After growing increasingly frustrated, he punched the computer monitor at the customer service desk, knocked over a display of gift cards and Red Bull cans, shoved a Red Bull merchandise fridge, stomped on a Red Bull can – causing it to puncture – and left the store with the items that he was attempting to pay for, police said.
