3rd Suspect Arrested In Montclair Armed Robbery Of Woman Walking Dog: Police
The suspects have also been linked to additional armed robberies in Union, Elizabeth and Jersey City, police said.

MONTCLAIR, NJ — A third suspect has been arrested in connection with an armed robbery that took place in Montclair last month, authorities announced Thursday.
According to the Montclair Police Department, Christopher Gomez, a 19, was arrested at his home on Pamrapo Avenue in Jersey City early Tuesday morning. He is accused of taking part on a robbery in Montclair on June 1.
Gomez’s accomplices – Wesley A. Garcia, 18, and Kirvin De La Rosa, 19 – were arrested in June. Both are also Jersey City residents, police said.

“On June 1, 2025, a 37-year-old female from Montclair reported that she was walking her dog on North Willow Street when a dark-colored Acura pulled up alongside her. Two males exited the vehicle and approached her. The driver remained in the vehicle. One of the males that exited the car brandished a handgun and demanded her belongings, specifically her jewelry. One of the suspects forcibly removed her necklace from her neck. The suspects then reentered the Acura and fled south towards Glenridge Avenue.”
Here's what happened next, police said:
“Montclair detectives began an investigation, and the vehicle was recovered later that same day in Jersey City, NJ. Further investigation, which included surveillance and multiple search warrants, resulted in the identification and arrest of Garcia and De La Rosa at a motel in Bayonne, NJ on June 5, 2025. Gomez, who at the time had not been identified, remained at large. The investigation continued and Gomez was ultimately identified and tracked down to his Jersey City residence. Evidence recovered by investigators linked the three to the Montclair armed robbery, as well as additional armed robberies in Union, NJ, Elizabeth, NJ, and Jersey City.”
All three suspects were charged with armed robbery, conspiracy to commit armed robbery, unlawful possession of a weapon, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, and receiving stolen property. They were additionally charged in Union, Elizabeth and Jersey City, authorities said.
Each suspect has been remanded to the Essex County Detention Facility in Newark, police said.
“I want to thank our partners at the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office that assisted us in this investigation,” Montclair Police Chief Todd Conforti said, crediting “outstanding police work” for leading to the arrests.
