Bloomfield Police Seek Public’s Help in Finding Missing Resident

Nycal Velasquez last seen in Fort Lee.

Police and concerned friends and family of a missing 21-year-old Bloomfield resident are asking for the public’s help after his abandoned car was found in Fort Lee and reportedly contained a suicide note.

Bloomfield police said the department started investigating Nycal Velasquez’s disappearance after Palisades Interstate Parkway Police found his family’s car in Fort Lee Historical Park on March 30. The car was missing since 3 that morning.

Alberto Velasquez, Nycal's father, told investigators he had been attempting to contact his son all day with no success. Nycal has a cell phone and a laptop computer, both of which are believed to be powered off.

The Palisades Parkway Police, Bergen County Police and Port Authority conducted an extensive search of the area where the car was found.

Nycal is described as a 5’9” tall, 140 lbs., of Filipino descent, black hair, olive skin with a tattoo of a tree on his right forearm and one with the word vindicate on his back. Velasquez was last seen wearing a blue baseball cap, Blue North Face jacket and jeans.
