Crew, Lacrosse, and Basketball Teams Among Those Honored

There were congratulations all around at the Freeholder Board's meeting last week, on June 20.

Freeholder Brendan Gill congratulations members and coaches of the Montclair High School Crew Team. The crew members attending the ceremony rowed on the following gold medal-winning boats: Girls JV8, Boys JV4, Boys Varsity Quad, Girls Varsity Lightweight 8, and Boys Freshman Quad.

Gill also presented the Board’s Commendation honoring the GNT-winning Montclair High School Baseball Team to Head Coach Ron Gavazzi. 

In addition, Bianca Brown, second-year Head Coach of the Montclair High School Girls Basketball Team was presented with a Commendation by Gill congratulating her for having been named the Essex County Girls Basketball “Coach of the Year” by The Star-Ledger.

And Gill was joined by members and coaches from the Non-Public B State Champion Montclair Kimberley Academy Boys Lacrosse Team during a presentation held at Montclair Town Hall.

Finally, Rev. John Mennell, Rector of St. Luke’s Episcopal Church, accepted a Commendation from Gill honoring Toni’s Kitchen on its 30th Anniversary.
