Bus Passenger Robbed After Trip From Orange To Montclair: Police

The victim said he was riding a NJ Transit bus when two men began "sizing him up."

ESSEX COUNTY, NJ — Two men robbed a bus passenger after a trip from Orange to Montclair last weekend, authorities say.

According to the Montclair Police Department, the victim said he was riding the #34 NJ Transit bus when two men began “sizing him up.”

Feeling uneasy, the passenger got off the bus at Bloomfield Avenue and Lackawanna Plaza. The two men followed him off the bus, and one of them hit him from behind on the right shoulder, knocking him to the ground.

The men stole cash from the victim and fled on foot east on Bloomfield Avenue, police said.

The suspects were wearing dark baseball caps and dark jackets. One suspect was heavier than the other, and the smaller of the two was wearing blue jeans. Both had facial hair, police said.
