ESSEX COUNTY, NJ — The race for Essex County clerk has ended with a win for the incumbent Democrat, official results show.
On Nov. 4, voters went to the polls to cast ballots for Christopher Durkin, the Democratic nominee, and Maritza Mathews, the Republican candidate.

Durkin has emerged victorious by a wide margin. Here are the certified results:
- Christopher J. Durkin – 176,332 votes (78.73%)
- Maritza Mathews – 47,636 votes (21.27%)
