Belleville Man Falls 40 Feet To Death at Pequannock Construction Site
Police believe it was an apparent mechanical failure that caused the accident, a report said.
PEQUANNOCK, N.J.– A 21-year-old Belleville man died after falling 40 feet from a forklift at the construction site for The Castle on Rt. 46 in Pequannock, NJ.com reported.
The worker was standing on a wooden pallet on the fork end of the forklift, which detached and caused his fall, NJ.com reported.
Police believe it was an apparent mechanical failure, according to NJ.com.

The unnamed man was transported to Chilton Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead at 1:46 p.m., NJ.com reported.
Workers were in the process of removing a ladder when the mechanical failure happened, NJ.com reported.

Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) will be investigating, according to NJ.com
