Ex-Montclair State University Employee Charged With Credit Card Theft

A former assistant department director at Montclair State University has been accused of stealing from the university.

A former Montclair State University employee has been accused with racking up more than $100,000 in personal expenses on a university credit card, authorities said.

The Passaic County prosecutor’s office has charged James Cassidy, 44, of Glenside, Pennsylvania, former assistant director of facilities maintenance at the university, with second degree theft by deception, according to NJ.com.

Cassidy served in his assistant director position at the university from June 2007 to August 2014, NJ.com reported.
