Fire Damages Glen Ridge House, Cause Under Investigation
The Montclair Fire Department responded to a house fire Friday night on Woodland Avenue in Glen Ridge.

MONTCLAIR, NJ — Montclair firefighters are working to determine the cause of a recent house fire in Glen Ridge.
Firefighters said they received a call Friday shortly after 7 p.m. in reference to a fire on Woodland Avenue.
The residents self-evacuated prior to the fire department's arrival.

Once on scene, firefighters said they located the fire on the third floor.
MFD units stretched multiple hose lines to the third floor and quickly extinguished the fire.

Firefighters said there was heavy fire, smoke and water damage to the third floor as well as smoke and water damage on the first two floors.
While Montclair units battled the fire, units from East Orange, Clifton and West Orange covered the township for the duration of the incident.
There were no reported civilian or fire department injuries, authorities said. The last unit cleared the scene shortly after 9 p.m.
