NEWARK, NJ – A hospital in Newark welcomed its first baby of the new year on Thursday.

Bella Rose was born at 12:37 a.m. to proud parents, Lesly and Elvis of Newark, at Newark Beth Israel Medical Center and Children’s Hospital. The newborn weighed seven pounds and 7 ounces.

“Mom and baby, in her New Year’s outfit, are resting comfortably and sharing a peaceful beginning,” staff reported Thursday.
