MONTCLAIR, NJ — “Taste the best of Montclair” – and discover some fascinating local history while you’re at it. That’s the pitch from the organizers of a Food Crawl and Historic Homes Tour that is taking place on Friday, Aug. 1.
According to the Montclair History Center, the event will take place from 1 to 4 p.m.
The all-inclusive adventure – which includes three meals at Montclair eateries with “major street cred” – will tour the Upper Mountain Avenue section of Montclair.

Here’s what to expect, organizers say:
“Chow Town Food Tours, Montclair History Center and Friends of Howe House are joining forces again on Friday, August 1 to taste the best of Montclair and discover the fascinating history of North Mountain Avenue, Claremont Avenue and Valley Road.”
Guests will meet at the MC Hotel, 690 Bloomfield Avenue. Tickets are $85. Registration is required and can be done online here.
