Free Parking At Montclair Township Lots Ends In Wake Of Snowstorm

Here's an important message for anyone who parked their car in a municipal lot ahead of the storm.

MONTCLAIR, NJ — It’s time to move your car if you parked at a municipal lot in Montclair over the holiday weekend, officials announced Tuesday.

Gov. Phil Murphy declared a state of emergency ahead of an incoming winter snowstorm last weekend. Montclair was among the towns in New Jersey that made preparations in advance of the storm – including parking.

During the snowstorm, free parking was made available at the Midtown Deck and municipal lots until snow on the streets was cleared.

The free period will be ending Tuesday at the following times:

  • Midtown Deck - Cars must be moved by 12pm. Any car remaining in the deck after 12pm will be charged the normal rate.
  • Municipal Lots - Cars without permits must be moved by 5pm in the evening or they will be ticketed an overnight charge.
