Beat the Heat: Montclair Opens Pool Early

The Montclair Recreation Department will open Essex Pool Wednesday — one day ahead of schedule — to help residents stay cool during this week's heat wave.

The Essex Pool will be open from 1 to 8 p.m. Wednesday for members and their guests. 

Wednesday will be partly sunny with a high near 90 and a chance of scattered showers and thunderstorms, according to Weather.gov.

The towns other two pools, Nishuane and Mountainside, will open for the season on Thursday. 

All three pools will remain open through Labor Day.
