“While this past year has been a joyously eventful and ground breaking experience for us, we are saddened to announce that we will be closing our doors at Tasca as of May 4. We have sold to new ownership of the space that will be introducing a new concept later this fall. Many factors went into making this decision, the biggest one simply being a quality-of-life matter. With attempting to manage two restaurants a significant distance apart from each other, and still trying to be a present husband and father to two active children, it became challenging to truly be present and involved as much as I would like in either regard.”
The restaurant owner continued:
“The upside is, I got to open and experience a restaurant I always wanted to see happen and with the help of the team, did so with tremendous acclaim, being named restaurant of the year by multiple sources. So, as bitter-sweet as it all is, at least I can walk away knowing that what was accomplished at Tasca was something both notable and inspiring. All of my time and focus will now be spent at Torino in Metuchen, which will be transitioning to a seasonal and modern farm-fresh Italian concept called Terzo in the upcoming weeks. Future plans there will also include tasting menu events featuring Iberian and Italian fusion nights that I very much look forward to hosting and keeping close to my Iberian roots.”
“With all that said, if you would like to come by and experience Tasca one last time, or even for the first time before it’s gone, join us over these next two weekends for our last nights of service,” Moutela added.

“Lastly, a big thank you to the Tasca team, both past and present, some of which will be joining me at Terzo in Metuchen, and to all of our fans that showed such a huge appreciation for what we’ve put out there,” Moutela wrote. “I look forward to seeing you all one last time and hopefully again in the future at Terzo.”
