“Watch armored knights spar, play Viking lawn games, create enchanting jewelry, learn to dance a merry jig, and get styled with fairy hair or serenaded by troubadours at this family-friendly, splendorous spectacle. In our village marketplace, purchase a leather pouch, dragon candle, magic wand, and other handcrafted keepsakes from an array of period artisans, and feast on savory meat pies and other refreshments. Celebrate the day with a frosty tankard of MedievalFest Ale, a luscious honey beer concocted by the brewmaster at Montclair Brewery. Enjoy live music from the Medieval, Renaissance, and Baroque periods, featuring the Montclair Early Music vocal and instrumental ensembles, and a performance by our children’s recorder group, DragonBards.”
Tickets for the family-friendly and accessible event can be purchased online here.
“We’re hoping to bring the magic and fun of the Renaissance Festival into the heart of Montclair, while helping fund the education scholarships for all our amazing young students,” said Louisa Valentín, the nonprofit’s executive director.
Profits from MedievalFest will support Montclair Early Music’s education programs for children and seniors and the Montclair Art Museum.
MedievalFest is made possible in part by funds from the Essex County Division of Cultural Affairs, a partner of the New Jersey State Council on the Arts.
