Montclair 2022 Election Results: School Board, Referendum (Updated)
Montclair voters cast ballots for board of education candidates and a school bond proposal. See the latest unofficial results here.

MONTCLAIR, NJ — Montclair voters headed to the polls on Tuesday to cast ballots in the 2022 general election. Their choices this year included seats on the local board of education, a school bond proposal and several county and Congress candidates.

ELECTION RESULTS IN MONTCLAIR
In Montclair, voters cast ballots for the local board of education. Four candidates ran for three seats on the school board (each term last for three years). The candidates are Noah Gale, Yvonne Bouknight, Mfreke “Monk” Inyang, and Brian Fleischer. Read More: Watch Montclair School Board Candidate Forum For 2022 Election

With 39 of 41 districts reported as of Friday, Bouknight, Fleischer and Inyang had leads over Gale. Here are the unofficial results, according to the Essex County Clerk's Office:
- Noah Gale - 6,549 votes (21.29%)
- Yvonne Bouknight - 9,350 votes (30.40%)
- Mfreke “Monk” Inyang - 6,974 votes (22.67%)
- Brian Fleischer - 7,885 votes (25.64%)
As part of a local referendum, Montclair residents were asked to vote whether to approve a $188 million school bond to pay for a series of infrastructure upgrades throughout the district.
With 39 of 41 districts reported as of Friday, the referendum has seen overwhelming support in Montclair. Here are the unofficial results, according to the Essex County Clerk's Office:
- YES - 11,286 votes (83.97%)
- NO - 2,154 votes (16.03%)

OTHER RACES

In Montclair, voters also cast a ballot for a member of the U.S. House of Representatives. The township is split between two Congressional districts, which are represented by two Democrats: Rep.
