In Montclair: An Evening at the Opera, Gala Fundraiser Concert
The Szabo Chamber Music Society will present a gala concert featuring world-renowned opera singers in Montclair.
MONTCLAIR, NJ —The newly formed nonprofit organization Szabo Chamber Music Society will present a tour de force Gala Concert, “A Night at the Opera” featuring world-renowned opera singers at 8 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 20 at Union Congregational Church, 176 Cooper Avenue in Montclair. All proceeds will go toward funding SCMS’s second concert season.
According to a news release:
"Dr. Sandor Szabo, artistic director, has 20 years of experience leading premier chamber and choral music series throughout Canada and the United States and is thrilled to launch his new series at Union Congregational Church. Dr. Szabo's schedule includes active engagement as conductor, organist, pianist and harpsichordist throughout Europe, Asia, Canada and the United States. He is Music Director of the Oratorio Society of New Jersey, Organist at Temple B’nai Abraham in Livingston, NJ and Music Director at Sacred Heart Church in Dobbs Ferry, NY. The Gala Concert program will include both instrumental and vocal musical selections featuring, Eunjoo Lee-Hulls, mezzo-soprano, Elizabeth Perryman and Elizabeth Honer, sopranos, Edward Hall, bass, Christopher Lucier, tenor, Cathy Yang, violin, and Dr. Sandor Szabo, piano and organ. The program will include exhilarating selections from the most beloved operas. Tickets are $20 adults, $15 seniors and $5 students; donations gratefully accepted and are tax deductible."
