Montclair Forecast: Storm On Its Way (What About This Weekend?)

MONTCLAIR, NJ — Some bad weather may be coming to Montclair on Thursday, with a mixture of sunny skies and showers predicted for the rest of the weekend, forecasters say.

A thunderstorm and the potential for hail and damaging winds and heavy rain is possible in the Garden State, with a front coming through by late Thursday morning, according to the National Weather Service (NWS). Here’s what the weather forecast holds for Montclair, according to the NWS:

Thursday: A slight chance of showers and thunderstorms, then showers and possibly a thunderstorm after 2pm. High near 83. Southwest wind 7 to 9 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.

Thursday Night: Showers and possibly a thunderstorm before 8pm, then a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms between 8pm and 2am. Low around 65. West wind 3 to 6 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.

Friday: A 20 percent chance of showers after 2pm. Mostly sunny, with a high near 81. West wind 5 to 14 mph.

Friday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 60. West wind 5 to 10 mph becoming light after midnight.

Saturday: Sunny, with a high near 78. West wind 6 to 10 mph.

Saturday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 61.

Sunday: A 40 percent chance of showers after 2pm. Mostly sunny, with a high near 77.

Sunday Night: A 30 percent chance of showers before 2am. Partly cloudy, with a low around 59.
