Montclair Fundraiser Will Benefit Families At Risk Of Homelessness

Family Promise of Essex County (FPE) is excited to announce Home In Focus, the nonprofit's signature fundraising event to benefit Essex County families experiencing, or at risk for, homelessness. The event takes place on Wednesday, Oct. 29 from 7 to 10 p.m. at Montclair Mezzanine located above The Clairidge.

Locals are no stranger to The Clairidge, the famed theater situated in the heart of Montclair for nearly 100 years. But movie buffs and area residents have likely not yet experienced the hottest new venue that is now perched above the original theater. Montclair Mezzanine boasts 10,000 square feet of luxury loft space, while keeping true to the interior and ambiance of the original theater.

FPE aptly chose the theme of Home in Focus, to pay homage to the venue’s storied history, while highlighting the agency’s mission of housing homeless and at-risk families throughout Essex County. This year’s gala event with feature cinematic themed food stations and cocktails catered by InThyme and live music from TD Bank Jazz for Teens students from NJPAC.

This year’s honoree, Gigi Loh, is a Maplewood resident and a longtime volunteer and Board Member of Family Promise of Essex County. The evening will feature a live auction and various opportunities for attendees to contribute to our local community in meaningful ways.

Family Promise of Essex County (FPE) supports families facing the crisis of homelessness with prevention assistance, emergency shelter, permanent housing, and long-term stabilization programs. In 2024, FPE served nearly 600 family members from Essex County, in one or more programs offered. Nearly 50% of those served annually are children. The proceeds from this event will provide critical funding to help families achieve self-sufficiency by providing shelter, social services, and housing assistance through a community-based approach.
