Montclair Kimberley Academy To Hold 'Alumni Innovation Summit'

Attendees will include prominent alumni in media, finance, medicine and technology.

MONTCLAIR, NJ — Montclair Kimberley Academy (MKA) will hold its inaugural “Alumni Innovation Summit” in celebration of the school’s 50th anniversary later this month.

The summit will take place on Thursday, April 24 and Friday, April 25.

According to a news release, attendees will include prominent alumni in media, finance, medicine and technology. The event will feature networking and mentorship opportunities, as well as panel discussions that explore the “intersection of technology and ethics” and the “impact of innovation on entrepreneurship, collaboration and creativity.” Other panels will celebrate women in STEM and showcase “exciting and unconventional career paths,” organizers said.

Panelists will describe their groundbreaking work and trace the influence of their years at MKA, organizers said.

Alumni participants across a range of industries include Jeffrey Kindler, former chief executive officer and chairman of Pfizer; psychiatric epidemiologist Karestan Koenen at Harvard’s T.H. Chan School of Public Health; Adam Sussman, President of Epic Games, one of the world’s largest video game companies; Fidelity’s Pam Holding, who co-manages more than $1 trillion in assets; entrepreneur and philanthropist Alan Wilzig; and author and memoirist Alden Jones.

Panel moderators are also drawn from industry leaders in the MKA community, many of them parents of current or past MKA students. These include consumer product innovator Craig Dubitsky, New York Times reporter Kate Zernike, media executives Dan Cesareo and Bernadette Aulestia, and organizational psychologist Limor Regular.

“The Alumni Innovation Summit reflects the values and academic excellence that have distinguished MKA for half a century, and it also looks to the future,” Head of School Nigel Furlonge said.

“By giving students a meaningful opportunity to engage with leaders shaping their world, the summit will spark a new sense of what’s possible in their own lives,” Furlonge said.
