Montclair Man Dies After Struck by Car

A Montclair man who was hit by car on Valley Road Wednesday morning has died, Montclair Police Capt. Kenneth V. Miscia, Jr. said. 

John Donovan, 75, was hit near the intersection of Walnut Street at about 6:17 a.m., Miscia said. Donovan was taken to the trauma center at St. Joseph's Hospital and Medical Center in Paterson where he died.

The driver of the car was a 27-year-old woman from Montclair.

The driver was not immediately identified. 

The accident remains under investigation by the Montclair Police Traffic Bureau and the Essex County Prosecutors Office.
