MONTCLAIR, NJ — It’s BYOB at this movie theater in Montclair: “Bring your own baby,” that is.

The Clairidge at 486 Bloomfield Avenue recently announced that it is expanding its popular “Bring Your Own Baby” matinee shows, adding Saturday screenings to the lineup.

While some New Jersey businesses are banning young kids from their premises, the Montclair theater is taking the opposite approach, inviting local parents, guardians and their new babies to come catch a new movie in a friendly environment.

The next screenings in The Clairidge’s BYOB series will take place at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, April 26 and Saturday, April 29. The film? “Showing Up,” which the theater describes this way:

“A sculptor (Michelle Williams) preparing to open a new show must balance her creative life with the daily dramas of family and friends, in Kelly Reichardt’s vibrant and captivatingly funny portrait of art and craft.”
