Roadwork on Valley Road and Orange Ave. Causes Detours, Delays

Montclair PD: Valley Road between Bloomfield Ave. and Church Street is closed today. Roadwork on Orange Ave. will cause delays tomorrow.

Plans for roadwork on several major Montclair roadways are in effect today and tomorrow, prompting drivers to take note of several detours around town.

Valley Road between Bloomfield Ave. and Church Street will remain closed today until at least 4 p.m., due to construction, Montclair Police say.

Montclair Police noted that a detour will be set up for travelers who normally navigate on Valley Road. Drivers can use Orange Road or South Park Street as an alternate route.

In addition, milling and paving work on Orange Road, at Washington Ave., Orange Road at Linden Avenue, and Orange Road at Granada Place near 301 Elm Street, will begin tomorrow, Dec. 12.

The roadwork will be conducted by paving contractor Roman Asphalt Corp., who will be performing the milling and paving in the areas where PSE&G installed gas mains.
