Montclair Resident Underclassmen Boosting MKA Field Hockey

Montclair resident Mia Wallace is a junior and one of the talented underclassmen who contribute to the success of the Montclair Kimberley Academy field hockey team this fall season.

MKA entered its Monday, Nov. 3, prep B-Division Tournament final at top-seeded Pennington with a 13-7 record. The Cougar stickers had also recently reached the Essex County Tournament final where they fell to 14-time champion West Essex in the championship match played at the Watchung Field in Montclair.

"We have 10 seniors on the team this year - almost half the team - and with their graduation, there will certainly be holes to fill," said MKA veteran coach Injoo Han. "We will be counting on underclasmen like Mia to step up next year."

MKA is the No. 2 seed in Non-Public, North in the NJSIAA state tournament and hosts 15th seeded Pope John in the Tuesday, Nov. 4, first round.
