Montclair Residents Design New Library Cards For Contest (PHOTOS)
Community members were invited to showcase their creativity and love for the library with original artwork.

MONTCLAIR, NJ — The Montclair Public Library recently announced the winners of its 2025 Library Card Design Contest, which invited community members to showcase their creativity and love for the library with original artwork.
The contest was held from Sept. 5 to Oct. 5 in celebration of Library Card Sign-up Month. Local artists of all ages were invited to create a new library card design that “embraced the spirit of reading, learning, community” – or the library itself.
More than 180 entries were received. After a round of community voting, the following winners were selected:

- Children’s Card: Arya S., age 11
- Teen Card: Linda Larkin, adult
- Adult Card: Hélène F., age 13
Winners will be celebrated at a special ceremony as part of the Montclair Public Library Board of Trustees meeting at 7 p.m. on Nov. 17, which will be open to the public. Following the ceremony, each winning design will be featured on a limited-edition library card – available to patrons beginning in December.
“We were amazed by how many incredible submissions we received and we loved each and every design,” Library Director Radwa Ali said.

“These new limited-edition cards are a great celebration of Montclair Public Library and the community members that make our library so special,” Ali said.
