Montclair Residents Key For MKA Football
...Seniors Isaiah Clark, Nathan Kissel and Fritz Schwartz help boost Cougar gridders
Montclair residents Isaiah Clark, Frits Schwartz and Nathan Kissel were key performers for the Montclair Kimberley Academy football team which finished 2-7 this season, but was also very competitive in most of its contests in and out of the Metropolitan Football League.
Clark was a starting wide receiver (second year as a starter) and was a top cornerback/safety this season.
"Isaiah was our primary target at wide receiver and played very well defensively whether it was at cornerback or safety," said veteran MKA head coach Anthony Rea. "He finished the season with 15 receptions for 158 yard and 1 TD and 34 tackles and an interception on defense. He had perhaps his best game of the season in our game against Columbia (hard-fought 21-12 Cougars defeat on Oct. 3), as he finished with 4 catches for 59 yards and a touchdown and had 5 tackles and a interception."

Schwartz returned as a starter at left guard this season for the second straight year and also started a number of games at defensive end in 2025.
"Frits was a key reason why our offense continued to have a strong rushing attack this season as we rushed for over 200+ yards in 3 of our games," said Rea. "On defense, he played very well, finishing with 27 tackles, 3.5 tackles for loss, and 2.5 sacks."

Kissel was a starting wide receiver and safety for the Cougars also providing superb 2-way play for the Montclair private school gridiron squad.
"Nathan did a great job blocking for our offense and was a physical presence on defense," continued Rea. "He had a reception offensively vs. Rye Country Day (N.Y.) School (13-0 MKA loss on Oct. 11).
"He also had a critical fumble recovery on an onside kick vs. Columbia. Defensively, he finished the season with 13 tackles, including 6 tackles against Hawthorne. (42-14 season-opening Cougars loss back on Aug. 29)."
