Montclair’s Buzz Aldrin Ties The Knot At 93: ‘Excited As Teenagers’

MONTCLAIR, NJ — Famed astronaut Buzz Aldrin is blasting off on another mission, he announced on his 93rd birthday: marriage to his “longtime love,” Anca Faur.

Aldrin, a Montclair native, dropped the news about his fourth marriage on Friday in a social media post. He wrote:

“On my 93rd birthday and the day I will also be honored by Living Legends of Aviation I am pleased to announce that my longtime love Dr. Anca Faur and I have tied the knot. We were joined in holy matrimony in a small private ceremony in Los Angeles and are as excited as eloping teenagers.”

Faur, 63, has a doctorate in chemical engineering. She is executive vice president of Buzz Aldrin Ventures.

Aldrin – one of the first two people to walk on the moon and the holder of several other lesser-known records – also thanked the public for showing him some love on his birthday:

“Thank you for all of the Happy Birthday wishes and heartfelt goodwill!” Aldrin wrote. “It means a lot and I hope to continue serving a greater cause for many more revolutions around the sun! Onward and upward and best wishes to all of you as well!”
