MONTCLAIR, NJ — The dust from Tuesday's election has begun to die down, and Montclair's school board race is nearly at the finish line.

Montclair voters went to their local polling places on Nov. 5 to cast ballots for several candidates, including the Montclair Board of Education. There are six people competing for three open seats on the school board: Eric Scherzer, Jada Roman, Sean Long, June Raegner, Andrew Gideon, and Holly Shaw.

With 97.56 percent of districts reported, Scherzer, Roman and Shaw hold sizable leads. Here are the latest uncertified election results, as per the Essex County Clerk’s Office (check back for updates):

  • Eric Scherzer – 9,969 votes (24.41%)
  • Jada Roman – 9,187 votes (22.5%)
  • Sean Long – 5,678 votes (13.91%)
  • June Raegner – 4,490 votes (11.0%)
  • Andrew Gideon – 3,970 votes (9.72%)
  • Holly Shaw – 7,540 votes (18.47%)
