JR: My professional background is in sales, customer relations, and contract management. I dedicated most of my career to onboarding and ensuring contract compliance in the private sector. In 2016, I faced the tough decision to step away from my job after discovering our son’s disability. During the first year, I focused on securing the proper support within the school system and privately. Since then, I have been fully involved in my son's educational journey, serving as a classroom parent, SEPAC liaison, PTA Vice President, PTA President, and SEPAC leader.

PATCH: What is your campaign platform if elected?

JR: The campaign slogan "An Inclusive Educational Community" emphasizes that every individual in the community should have fair and equal access to the district's resources and operations, encompassing budgets, curriculum, strategic objectives, and daily functions. As a community member, you can access the review and contact information related to an issue when necessary. In addition, proactive communications and an accessible vehicle to communicate concerns, opinions, and questions are also important. Your involvement can influence change.

PATCH: What is one thing that always makes you smile about the Montclair school district?

JR: The staff who meet, support, nurture, and educate my child and all of our children every day!
