Montclair State to Switch Dining Services from Sodexo to Chartwells

While it has not been confirmed by the university or dining service officials, rumors are flying around Montclair State’s campus and around Montclair about potential changes to the school’s dining options.

With its hours of operation for Fall 2014, The Montclair State Dining website incorporates some of the rumored changes:

• Sam’s Place will become Pulse on Dining
• Freeman Dining Hall will become a Balance Kitchen
• Rathskeller will become 2.Mato
• The Student Center Convenience store will become Outtakes Express Market with a Red Hawk Yogurt inside.
• Guy Fieri will become Chili’s Restaurant
• The Sub Connection will become Which Wich Superior Sandwich
• Cafe Diem will become Au Bon Pain

Unconfirmed changes include:

• The University Hall Coffee Bar, switching to an Outtakes Express featuring Starbucks Coffee
• Student Center Cafeteria concepts (SONO - Latin cuisine, Red Hawk Grill, Passport - international options, Olo Sushi, Stackers Deli, Au Bon Pain Soups and Jersey Fresh Outtakes Food to Go.) 

The Dining News page of MSU’s dining on campus website also hints at a few potential changes, citing “New Brands on Campus” and “All New Menus in Sams Place and Freemans.”
