Montclair Theater Festival Set To Debut At Glenfield Park
The Essex County Board Of Commissioners recently declared the second Saturday of July as "Montclair Theater Day."

Known for its vibrant and lively arts scene, the town of Montclair continues to find new and meaningful ways to celebrate creativity within its community. One of the town's newest initiatives includes the inaugural Montclair Theater Festival, presented by Vanguard Theater and The Essex County Board Of Commissioners. This eagerly anticipated event is set to take place on Saturday, July 12 at Glenfield Park in Montclair’s historic Fourth Ward.
In recognition of the festival’s creation and Vanguard’s ongoing contributions to the township’s cultural landscape, The Essex County Board Of Commissioners officially proclaimed the second Saturday of July as Montclair Theater Day on June 24. As noted in the proclamation:

At the heart of this new summer tradition are two mainstage productions: the high-energy, family favorite “Shrek the Musical” and a magical, open-air performance of Shakespeare’s “A Midsummer Night’s Dream.” By hosting the festival at Glenfield Park, Vanguard continues to honor their commitment to creating inclusive, welcoming spaces by highlighting the park’s beauty and providing joyful, enriching experiences for audiences of all ages.
