New ‘Vegetable-Forward’ Restaurant Opening In Montclair: Sam’s Table
The new restaurant will occupy the space that once housed Tasca, which closed its doors earlier this year.
MONTCLAIR, NJ — A new restaurant featuring a “vegetable-forward” menu is opening in Montclair.
Sam’s Table is expected to open at 377 Bloomfield Avenue in early September. Helmed by chef Sam Stymest, the 26-seat eatery will feature a “vegetable-forward modern American” menu, with an a la carte menu on Thursdays and Sundays, and a tasting menu on Fridays and Saturdays. Stymest has worked at such places as NYC-famed Craft Bar, Google, and in well-known Montclair establishments such as Upstairs, Fascino, Corso 98, and has even ventured to Wellfleet on the Cape working at Ceraldi.

Stymest said he hopes to continue the hospitable community experience he created for his neighbors in his family’s backyard during the COVID pandemic shutdown in 2020 — with these pop-ups eventually becoming the inspiration for Sam’s Table.
