Coming Soon: New Yogurt Shop in Upper Montclair

The space at 197 Bellevue Avenue—just a few doors down from the Bellevue branch of the Montclair Public Library—has had many reincarnations over the years, none of them very successful.

And now, according to a new sign, it appears the latest reincarnation will be a yogurt business called Razz Berry Frozen Swirl.

The opening will be just the latest in a string of frozen yogurt shop appearances in Montclair, which is now home to  Let's Yo!, and Berry Sweet, among other yogurt establishments.

In February,  that the restaurant at 197 Bellevue Avenue known as Grid Iron Waffles had gone out of business despite being a popular hangout for middle school students.

Grid Iron Waffles had opened in the fall of 2011, taking the place of another restaurant called Sticky Buns.

It's never been clear what happened to Grid Iron Waffles although change is common in Upper Montclair. The space was cleared out and a large sign in the window revealed that the storefront was available.

Now a new sign indicates that Razz Berry yogurt is coming soon.
