'Pay What You Can' Café Returning To Montclair For Monthly Event

Don't have the cash to pay for your meal? All you need is a smile, organizers say.

MONTCLAIR, NJ — A “pay what you can” pop-up café is returning for its monthly visit this week at the Salvation Army’s Montclair citadel.

The Pay It Forward Pop Up Café will be open to customers from noon to 3 p.m. on Thursday, March 14 at 13 Trinity Place in Montclair. Patrons can select a soup and a side of either rice or dumplings, which they may take to-go or eat at the café.

As part of the café’s “Donate What You Can” program, guests can pay with nothing more than a smile, if they don’t have the cash to make a donation to the nonprofit’s programs – including The Cornerstone Homeless Shelter, its soup kitchen or its case management services.
