Police Charge Woman With Prostitution In Montclair

Police carried out a raid on Bloomfield Avenue. A woman was arrested and cash/other items were seized, authorities said.

MONTCLAIR, NJ — Police arrested a New York state resident on a prostitution charge after carrying out a raid in Montclair’s central business district last week, authorities announced Tuesday.

Detectives from the Montclair Police Department and the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office conducted a law enforcement operation on the 400-block of Bloomfield Avenue on Wednesday.

Police arrested a 51-year-old resident of Flushing, New York, and charged her with one count of prostitution.

Police seized cash and surveillance equipment during the raid, as well as other items allegedly linked to “prostitution-related activities,” authorities said.

According to authorities, the investigation was launched in response to complaints from residents in the area. Anyone with information can contact the Montclair Police Department at (974) 744-1234.
