Police ID Suspect in Greenwood Avenue Shooting
Devon Marshall, 20, is wanted for allegedly shooting Montclair man three times in front of his home.

Police are looking for a man they say shot a 20-year-old Montclair man in the chest in front of his Greenwood Avenue home two weeks ago.
Devon Marshall, 20, whose last known address is in Montclair, is wanted for shooting Jaylen Riley three times, including once in the chest, on May 31, according to Montclair Police Det./Lt. Angel Roman.
Riley was rushed to University Hospital in Newark and was expected to be released no later than June 14, Roman said.

Police do not have a motive and have not been able to confirm whether Marshall and Riley were friends, Roman said. He said eyewitnesses helped lead to identifying Marshall as the possible shooter.
“The witnesses did hear a disagreement or something like that and then the shots rang out a little while later,” Roman said.

A shooting the following night on Mission Street that left a former Montclair man with a minor leg wound remains under investigation, Roman said.
Roman said there have been three shootings in Montclair so far this year, the incidents on Greenwood Avenue and Mission Street, and the in May.
