Severe Thunderstorm Watch Is In Effect

Threat of thunderstorms forces postponement of Grease

 

A severe thunderstorm watch is in effect for Montclair and the rest of Essex County until 9 p.m. tonight.

The threat of bad weather has forced the postponement of the Montclair Film Festival's outdoor Grease sing-a-long—originally scheduled tonight—until Friday, June 29 at 8 p.m. at the Presby Memorial Iris Gardens.

During the next six hours, showers and thunderstorms are expected with temperatures cooling into the low to middle 80s, according to the National Weather Service.

Damaging winds and locally heavy rainfall could result from these thunderstorms. Plan accordingly if you have outside activities planned.

On Saturday, you can expect sunny skies and a high temperature of 87. Sunday is expected to bring more of the same.

Meanwhile, a heat advisory remains in effect until 7 p.m. for much of the New York City area.
